KCB Rugby scrum-half Samuel Asati takes positives from abandoned Kenya Cup clash against Kabras

  • KCB Rugby scrum-half Samuel Asati believes their 10–10 abandoned Kenya Cup clash against rivals Kabras Sugar is a morale-boosting result.
  • The rivalry match was called off before the second half could begin after the KCB Sports Club pitch was deemed unplayable following heavy rains.
  • The Fixtures and Leagues Committee is scheduled to meet on Tuesday, March 10, to deliberate on the next step; whether to let the result stand or schedule a replay at a later date.

KCB Rugby Scrum half Samuel Asati believes that their dominance for much of the abandoned Kenya Cup match against rivals Kabras Sugar on Saturday has given them a morale boost ahead of the remaining fixtures.

The rivalry match was called off before the second half could begin after the KCB Sports Club pitch was deemed unplayable by centre referee Kevin Wambugu following a heavy downpour that afternoon.

At halftime, both sides were locked at 10-10, with KCB at home having controlled large spells of the game.

Speaking after the match, Asati noted that although they knew it would not be an easy contest, the team put in a solid performance and kept their errors to a minimum.

“The match today was okay. The boys rose to the occasion and we controlled most of the tempo. Unfortunately, it was a wet game, but the good thing is that we handled our high balls well and did not have many knock-ons. We knew it was not going to be an easy game,” Asati stated.

The Kenya 7s star added that despite Kabras often pinning them back in recent meetings, he commended his teammates for their resilience over the 40 minutes and is now waiting to see how the final ruling goes.

“Kabras has always edged us into the corner, but on this one, kudos to the boys. Unfortunately, the match did not finish, but we managed to pick a draw and we now await the final verdict from the Leagues Committee.”

Asati believes securing a draw while bossing the game serves as a huge confidence booster ahead of upcoming clashes and is confident the squad is ready for what lies ahead.

“I think getting a draw and the performance today will motivate us going into the next matches. We take on Daystar Falcons next and I believe the boys are ready for the task. Of course we respect every team. Unfortunately, the Kenya Sevens players will not be available, but I think the rest of the squad will get the job done,” he added.

The Fixtures and Leagues Committee is scheduled to meet on Tuesday, March 10, to deliberate on the next steps; whether to let the result stand or schedule a replay at a later date.

If the rules require both teams to split the points, Kabras will have plenty to celebrate, as they would remain comfortably top of the table and stretch their incredible four-season unbeaten run to 51 matches.

Meanwhile, KCB would still trail them in second place, also staying unbeaten this season with just one fixture left before the playoffs.

PakarPBN

A Private Blog Network (PBN) is a collection of websites that are controlled by a single individual or organization and used primarily to build backlinks to a “money site” in order to influence its ranking in search engines such as Google. The core idea behind a PBN is based on the importance of backlinks in Google’s ranking algorithm. Since Google views backlinks as signals of authority and trust, some website owners attempt to artificially create these signals through a controlled network of sites.

In a typical PBN setup, the owner acquires expired or aged domains that already have existing authority, backlinks, and history. These domains are rebuilt with new content and hosted separately, often using different IP addresses, hosting providers, themes, and ownership details to make them appear unrelated. Within the content published on these sites, links are strategically placed that point to the main website the owner wants to rank higher. By doing this, the owner attempts to pass link equity (also known as “link juice”) from the PBN sites to the target website.

The purpose of a PBN is to give the impression that the target website is naturally earning links from multiple independent sources. If done effectively, this can temporarily improve keyword rankings, increase organic visibility, and drive more traffic from search results.
