Gor Mahia made one change to the starting lineup that drew against Ulinzi Stars, welcoming back Ghanaian Ebenezer Adukwaw after a month-long spell sidelined with an arm injury.

Adukwaw replaced Patrick Essombe. For Police, they introduced Marvin Nabwire back to the starting lineup after his one-match suspension due to a red card.

It took only two minutes for K’Ogalo to gain the lead when Adukwaw tapped it in home from close range after an explosive exchange of counter-attacking football involving Paul Ochuoga and Adukwaw, with Ochuoga delivering the assist.

K’Ogalo would double their lead at the half-hour mark after a pinpoint finish from Shariff Musa.

Police were then forced into an early change at the stroke of halftime when Edward Omondi was withdrawn due to an injury inflicted by Enock Morrison.

Enock Morrison then came close to tripling K’Ogalo’s lead, latching onto an Austin Odhiambo’s corner kick, but it was cleared off the line by Police Goalkeeper Job Ochieng’.

The second half was largely uneventful, with Police’s best chance of the day coming from a substitute, David Simiyu, whose shot went overboard.

The win extends Gor Mahia’s unbeaten streak to six matches, with five wins and a draw. Up next is the international break, after which Gor Mahia will face Tusker on October 22nd, then play the highly-anticipated Mashemeji Derby against AFC Leopards on November 30th.
