FAN POLL – 65% Of Arsenal Fans Agree That The Gunners Should Sign This £55M Rated Striker This Summer

65% of Arsenal supporters believe that the club should make a move for Sporting Lisbon striker Viktor Gyokeres.

The Swedish international is said to be among the options that manager Mikel Arteta and sporting director Andrea Berta are considering as they seek to strengthen the forward line during the summer transfer window.

Gyokeres is currently on course for the European Golden Boot following an incredible season which has seen him score 53 goals in 51 appearances.

A poll conducted by Gooner News (which over 1200 people took part in) has revealed that almost two-thirds of fans want their club to bring in the 26-year-old:

When you press “view results”, you will see that Gyokeres has taken 65.62% of the votes, with RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko in 2nd on 15.31%.

Napoli’s Victor Osimhen is 3rd on 10.67%, with Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins a distant 4th on 5.77%, and Lille’s Jonathan David 5th on 2.62%.

Reliable sources, including journalist Fabrizio Romano, have confirmed that Sporting will not hold out for Gyokeres’s €100m (£84m) release clause.

It is believed that a fee in the region of €65m (£55m) will be enough to secure his services, which many will regard as a bargain considering his performances this campaign.

Will there be competition for Gyokeres?

Manchester United are also thought to be interested in the striker, but there are doubts over whether the Red Devils can afford to pay his asking price after failing to qualify for the Champions League.

The Gunners are very much in pole position to snap up Gyokeres if they do decide to make a concerted effort to sign the player over the coming days and weeks.
