Arsenal Get Major Injury Boost As Newcastle United Set To Be Without 3 Stars For PL Clash

Arsenal have been handed a major injury boost as Newcastle will be without three key players for Sunday’s game in the Premier League. 

The Gunners come off a 1-1 draw against Man City in the league, which left them second in the table, five points behind league leaders Liverpool, who have won five games from five matches so far.

Arsenal took their mind off the Premier League during the week as they had a Carabao Cup clash against Port Vale away from home. They managed to beat the League One side 2-0, and secure their place in the next round of the competition.

They turn their attention to a Premier League clash against Newcastle this weekend, which will provide a tough test on Sunday afternoon at St James’ Park, however, the Gunners have been handed a boost as the Magpies will be without three key players.

Arsenal handed injury boost ahead of Newcastle

Firstly, Newcastle signed Yoane Wissa from Brentford in the summer after the striker scored 19 Premier League goals last season. However, his current knee injury means that he won’t be available for Sunday’s game, which is a huge miss for the Magpies.

Eddie Howe said: “I think we’re looking at the other side of the international break. We hope he can be fit and available for that first game.”

Furthermore, fellow summer signing Jacob Ramsey also won’t be available on Sunday, as the former Aston Villa midfielder is dealing with an ankle injury, which is expected to keep him out of action until mid October.

Centre-back Fabian Schar is also unavailable for Howe’s side on Sunday, as the Swiss defender is dealing with a head injury, which will keep him out until next month too. So as Newcastle won’t have Wissa, Schar or Ramsey, that certainly makes Arsenal’s task at St James’ a much easier proposition.
