124-Game Arsenal Star Predicts How The Gunners Will Do Next Season

Arsenal star Leandro Trossard has been looking ahead to next season for the Gunners after failing to win silverware this year. 

Mikel Arteta‘s side finished second in the Premier League for the third consecutive season, but this time it was losing out to Liverpool rather than Manchester City.

The Gunners also impressed in the Champions League, beating Real Madrid in the quarter-finals, but they lost to eventual champions Paris Saint-Germain in the semi-finals, dashing any hopes of silverware for Arteta in his fifth year at the Emirates.

It means that the Spanish manager has only won one trophy during his time at Arsenal, the FA Cup in his first season at the club. He will likely be under considerable pressure to come away with some silverware next season.

Trossard predicts next season

Winger Leandro Trossard was a vital part of Arteta’s squad, despite the fact that the Belgian isn’t one of the two first-choice wingers. He made 56 appearances for Arsenal in all competitions, scoring 10 goals and providing 1o assists.

He had a good season, but in an interview with Arsenal’s official website, he said that the team is hungry for a trophy, and to improve upon their last couple of seasons.

Trossard said: “I think you can speak as much as you want about this campaign, but it’s over now. So from next season we start fresh and for everyone it’s a new opportunity. It’s the same for us, and hopefully with everything we’ve had to go through this season, injury-wise and a couple of other things, we can start in a good manner next season. We want to win everything, whatever is possible.

“I think there’s a lot of confidence within the team. We are always there and we always create chances, and it’s up to us to take them.

“Every year we’re closer and closer, and that’s what we need to do next year. We need to keep pushing and push each other towards that – that’s the only way you can go for silverware.”

Trossard will be hoping that in the final year of his contract at Arsenal, he can help the Gunners to their first trophy since 2019/20.
