This month, Canadian expertise in artificial intelligence (AI) will be highlighted as SCALE AI, a global Canadian AI innovation cluster, presents ALL IN 2023 online and in person at the Palais des congrès de Montréal. Over two days – September 27th and 28th – the event will showcase over 60 successful AI projects and showcase the top 100 AI startups in Canada.
Organized in collaboration with CEIMIA, Mila – Institut d’AI du Québec and the Montreal Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce, the conference brings together leading AI experts, industry members, startups, investors and researchers, as well as numerous federal and provincial representatives and local government stakeholders share their perspectives and explore how AI is transforming the Canadian economy. IT World Canada (ITWC), the parent company of Direction Informatique, is a proud media sponsor.
“ALL IN is a world-class event showcasing real-world AI applications, services and solutions developed here at home,” said Julien Billot, CEO of SCALE AI. “These groundbreaking innovations will be adopted by companies around the world and transform the way we do business. »
Organizers expect more than 1,400 on-site participants, including 300 members of foreign delegations, as well as more than 10,000 virtual participants who will hear from AI researchers and business leaders about the use of AI and the challenges it poses. Speakers will also address regulation and governance and the fair, equitable and responsible access and use of technology.
“ALL IN is not only a tribute to Canadian expertise in artificial intelligence, but also an opportunity to consolidate our position as a global leader in this promising and transformative field whose opportunities we know how to exploit,” said François-Philippe Champagne, Minister for Innovation, Science and Industry, who will speak at the event. “That’s why our government is proud to support this event, which will allow us to build partnerships, share knowledge and drive the next wave of artificial intelligence innovation in Canada. »
The agenda includes panels describing how AI is transforming various industries, including aerospace, manufacturing, healthcare, construction, retail and more. The speakers will also discuss the diverse facets of responsible use of AI and shed light on the future of work in the AI age. And of course, data protection, equality and diversity will also be covered, as well as the infrastructure required to build and use AI models (Jim Love, CIO of ITWC, will moderate two panels on infrastructure). Finally, a panel will examine regulatory issues both in Canada and internationally.
“As AI continues to advance rapidly, it is our responsibility to ensure its development is done responsibly,” said Yoshua Bengio, founder and chief scientific officer of Mila. “ALL IN is an opportunity to address complex issues of ethics, transparency and fairness. »
